About Marissa Garcia

Marissa Garcia attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Art and Science, Business Specialty, in 2001. She then pursued her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and graduated and received her license in 2004. While in law school, Marissa was an active member of Law Review for two years and was involved in various groups such as the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Hispanic Law Student Association, the American Bar Association and the Student Bar Association.  In 2008 Marissa became a Certified Mediator in civil matters and a Certified Attorney ad Litem and Guardian ad Litem for Guardianship, Heirship and Civil cases.  In 2021, Marissa was sworn in as a part-time Associate Municipal Court Judge for The City of Houston.

Presently, Marissa practices law in Harris and surrounding counties focusing her legal skills on Guardianship, Heirship, Probate, and drafting Wills and end of life documents.  Marissa continues to work as an Associate Judge for Houston on a part-time basis.
